BILIOUSNESS.
There are many causes of this complaint, but they all spring from i disordered liver which does not properly fulfill its functions, especially in a warm climate, when it becomes sluggish in its action. The bile is turned from
its proper channel, and enters the blood, and the person so affected is demoralised throughout his entire system.
The presence of biliary poison in the blood upsets the entire digestive system, and is the chief- cause of sick headaches. It also causes dull pains and uneasiness in the right side and shoulder blade, a bitter taste in the mouth, sudden dizziness on rising, spots floating before the eyes, furred tongue, bad breath, howels loose one day and constipated the next. All or any of these symptoms, may accompany the bilious condition, and while so affected life is scarcely worth livings

FREIGHT-CHARTER MARKETS IN THE NORTH.
The Manchurian Daily News (Japanese) of December 15th contains the following paragraph: A fleet of altogether 30 ye sels, with gross tonnage of about 87,000, comprising one-third of the total re gistered in the Kwantung Leased Terri- tory will be relieved of Government service as military transports within a fortnight. This prospect has already weakened the steamer freight and charter markets of Japan, No new charter party, save that for five vessels recently cb rtored as colliers, etc., by foreign mer- chants for service in the Bouth Séa waters, has been contracted so far, consequence, the charter money has sharp- ly declined. MANILA SHIP FOR TRANS PACIFIC TRADE
The honour of being the first vessel ro- gistored in the Philippines to sail from the port of Manila for the United States: belongs to the Madrigal steamer Rio Pasig, which was dispatched last week by Macleod & Co. for Seattle vid Nagasaki. The Rio Prain took 20,200 bales of hemp.
Although the tio Pasig is one of the few large vessels to fly the American flag and be cogistered in the Philippines, says the Cablenews, her charter was obtained be fore the outbreak of the war. The vessel was formerly the naval collier Alexander, and was sold to Vicente Madrigal, the Manila coal dealer and broker, about a year ago.
The recent exploits of this, vessel and her capture by the British au- thorities and final release at Hongkong by the prize court, is well remembered by all renders The Hio Pasig has been chartered by Macleod & Co. to engage in the trans-Pacific trade....
