The nineteenth ordinary meeting of shareholders of the Ewo Cotton Spinning and Weaving Co., Ltd., was held on the 17th inst, at the offices of Meara Jardine, Matheson & Co., general managera. There were present; Messrs. C. E. Anton (presiding), P. F. Lavors, C. G. S. Mackie, Zau Sung-dau (members of the Consulting Committee), J. Kerfoot (Mill Superintendent), A Brooke Smith (Secretary), H. D. Morrison, G. A. Richardson, L. E. P. Jones, B. Macgregor, N. L. Sparke, W. G. Pirie, and F. J. Barrett.

The profit for the year is Tls. 370;089.90' and including the amount brought for- ward there is a sum of Ts., 379,343:12 available for allocation, Last year the profit was Tls. 552,278.93-a record in the Company's history-and although this year we are unable to show so satisfactory a result, I think we have reason to con gratulate ourselves on what has been achieved, having regard to the more or less gonerally adverse conditions of trade which, owing to one cause or another, were prevalent during the period of the year's working.
