SHIPS' LETTER BOXES.
THE HONGKONG DAILY PRESS, THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 24mm, 1914,
1. It is hereby noticed that during the confiance of the War all outgoing correspondence
must be rosied at the General Post Office or at sny of its Branch Offices. 2.Ships Officers axo et jetly forbidden to receive on beard their vessels any correspondence
from the Public,
3.-Shipmasters are not allowed to placs or expres on board their vessels lelier' boxes for the purpose of collecting ecrierpondence;-ail.auch-bores found exposed on board, ther ressels will be removed and returned in the General Post Office.
Shipping Companies must not receive from the Publio for inclusion in their ships Papon any but bona fide Consignees' letters which should be left open for inspection when required.
5.--Shipping Companies should state in their notifications to the Post Offce the exact hour of departare of their vesels' in order that the public moy bave every facility for posting at the General Post Offes.
6-Shipping Companies and Ships Officers must send to the Post Office ALL correspondezco except bona fide Consignees letters posted in the Ships Lotter Boxes or received by Ship Offers at the peric from which they railed, or anywhere on route to Hongkong. -The above-regulations will-not nect the licensed Private Letter Boxes carried between Hergkong and Canton by the veseats belonging to or managed by the Hongkong, Canton and Macao Steamboat Co.
WAR RISKS ARE NOT COVERED BY POSTAL REGISTRATION OR INSURANCE,
The Parcel Post service to Egypt and countries beyond is for the present suspended.
A late Mail for Swalew, Amey and Feschew will in future be closed for all Daugiss Steamers 20 minutes Etfire caci atimer tails, ordinary correspondence will be received after the regular mail kas clefed ab the sido west entrance to the G.P.O. in the lane off Des Vreux Eoad.
The Salsette, with the MAUS PEOM LONDON (via Siberia) of 21st to 25th ult., is due to arrive here to-morrow.
The Hongkong, with the FRENCH MAIL ex Magellan, is due to arrive here on Saturday, the 26th just.
The Korea, with the AMERICAN MA. left Yokobama for Hongkont via Manila en the 16th inst, at 10 a.m, and is scheduled to arrive here on Monday, the 29th inst.
