POST OFFICE NOTICE. SHIPS LETTER BOXES.

THE HONGKONG DAILY PRESS, FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 11TH, 1914.

It is hereby notified that daring the continuance of the War all outgoing correspondenco must be ported at the General Post Office or at any of its Branch Ofoes, 2Ships' Offers are strictly forbidden to receive on board their vessels any correspondence

from the Public.

3-Shipmasters are not allowed to place or expose on board their vessola letter boxes for the purpose of collecting correspondence; all anch boxes found exposed on board their vessels will be removed and returned to the General Fost Office.

4-Bhipping Cominn must not receive from the Public for inclusion in their abips Papers any but bona de Consigners' letters which should be left open for inspection-when Ifquired.

Shipping Companies should state in their notifientious to the Post Office the exnet hour of departure of their weasels in order that the public may have every facility for posting at the General Post Office.

6-Shipping Companies and Ships Officers must send to the Post Office ALL correspondence except bora de Consignees' letters posted in the Ships Letter Boxes or received by Ship Offer ra at the ports from which they sailed, or anywhere en route to Hongkong. 7--The above regulations will not affect the licensed Private Letter Boxes carried between Hongkong and Cinton by the vesse's belonging to or ranged by the Hongkong, Canton snd-Masso Steamboat Co.

The PM, str. Mongolia will leave Manila for Hongkong on Friday, making her due to arrive as Hongkong on Sun day, a.m.

THE AUSTRALIAN - MAILS,

The E. & A. str. Eustern, from Sydney, etc., left Fort Darwin for this port (via Timor and Manila) on the 2nd Septem- ber, and may be expected to arrive here on the 14th September.

The A.O. Line str. Taiyuan left Sydney on the 26th August for Hongkong vis Zamboanga and Thursday Island; Manila, and may be expected to arrive bere on or about 18th September.

The P. & O. str. Salsette left Singapore for this port on the 7th September, at noon, with the outward English mails, and is due here on the 12th September, at about daylight.

MERCHANT STEAMERS.

The Ben Line str. Benvorlich, from Antwerp, Middlesbro', and London, left Bingapore for this port on the 7th Septem- ber, and may be expected to arrive here on or about the 13th September.

The T.K.K. str. Seiyo Maru will arrive here from Moji on the 28th September. -
