Wilson bas furnished through the Resident Commissionere most excellent reasons for preferring the new Jones Bill.
The Filipino people should now join with unanimity in support of this-legiala tion. In that way the patriotic Filipino can at this juncture best serve his native land; in that way independence may be achieved with self-respect and the good will of all; and under most, favourable circumstances it may even come sooner than the fixed date which many now advocate.
When the Bill becomes a law, I feel confident that all Americans here will unite in supporting the Philippine policy of our country; cheerfully and unselfishly they will aid in the future working of this new form of government."
