REPORT OF THE REGISTRAR FOR THE YEAR 1013,

ORIGINAL JURISDICTION.

The number of actions instituted in this division of the Court during the year 1918. Was 250 and there were 57 pending at the commencement of that year as against 221 and 450 respectively in 1912, 149 were disposed of during the year, 5ỡ being settled or withdrawn before trial, leaving a balance of 655 undisposed of, as against 147, 50 and 557 respectively in 1912.

There were one interim injunction and one injunction granted during the year.

The total amount involved was $1,960,684, against $2,496,284 in 1012.

The debts and daratges recovered amounted to $494,001, as against $84,587

The total fees collected amounted to $15,230.40, as against $15,333 in 1919.

SUMMARY JURISDICTION.

The number of actions instituted during the year was 1,908, and 198 were brought forward from 1912, as against 4,037 and 230 respectively in 1912, and were disposed of as follows:-Bottled or withdrawn 757; judgment for the plaintiff 648; judgment for the defendant 56; non-suited 0; struck out, distaisnod and Japsed writs (not served) 37; struck out of the cause book as having been standing over for more than a year 0; ledving 412 as pending, as against 876, 798, 50, 60, 8, 219, 123 and 198 respectively-in 1912-

ADMIRALTY JURISDICTION;

There were actions instituted and no action was tried during the year. Two actions were settled and three are pend- ing. Two vessels were arrested, but were. subsequently released

The total fees collected amounted to $270.50, as against $77.26 in 1919.

BANKRUPTCY JURISDICTION,

There were 40 potitions filed, 29 being creditors petitions and 20 being petitions by the debtors themselves. The figurea for 1912 were respectively 38, 18 and 20.

The number of receiving orders made was 33, being 17 on creditors' petitions, and 16 on debtors petitions. The figures for 1913 were respectively, 11 and 18.

The number of public examinations held was 16, as against 17 in 1912 1

There were 29 adjudications, and one scheme of arrangement. The figures in 1912 were 22 adjudications, and 2 com- diacharges positions. There were 3 granted.
