DISASTROUS BANGKOK FIRE,
TWO LARGE RICE MILLS GUTTED.
As the result of a serious conflagration two large Bangkok rice mills have been destroyed, the properties being known as the Kim Cheng and Tek Lee. The mills caught fire in a mysterious manner, and owing to unforeseen difficulties the brigade were late in arriving. When the firemen did arrive the two buildings were a mass of fame, and all that remained to be done was to prevent the flames spread- ing to adjoining properties. The official figures of the losses estimates that of the Kim Cheng property at Tes 250,000, and of the Tek Lee property at Tes. 600.000.
