SORE THROATS:

Their Cure and Prevention,

Sore throat is so much in the air just now that everyone will be interested to learn how we catch this complaint, and the best way of curing and preventing it.

The germs which cause sore throat are literally "in the air, floating about on particles of soot, dust, etc. We cannot help inhaling these, and it is, therefore, quite accurate to speak of

catching" sore throat.

When we are in good health we may inhale millions of these germs without taking hartu. But if we are ever so slightly run down, the germs of sore throat will grow and multiply in the month cavity, inflaming and swelling the delicate membranes.

Thea is the time to test the curative power of Wuling's Formauiut, the germ-killing throat tablet.

These harmless, palatable tablets, sucked like sweets, destroy all germ growths in the mouth and throat. Therefore they first allay pain and then cure the complaint. By the same direct method, Formamint not only cures sore throat, but also prevents that and other infectious diseases like Diphtheria, Scarlet Fever, Measles, etc.

Formamint

THE GERM-KILLING THROAT TABLET-

The unique power of Formamint as a germ killer has One of the most interesting frequently been demonstrated. proofs is that produced by Dr. Piorkowski, the famous Berlin scientist, which is illustrated by the above diagrams.

Dr. Piorkowski coated two glass plates with a substance on- which germs thrive. Que of them (Fig. 2) he also treated with some human saliva in which Formamint Tablets had been dissolved. He then exposed both plates to the air, and afterwards kept them for three days at the temperature of the human body.

Fig. 1, not having been treated with Formamint, was ' covered with germ growths which cause sore throat and other infectious diseases. But Fig. 2, which had been treated with Formamint, was practically free from germ growths, proving that Formamint killed the germs which settled there.

What happened on the second plate is exactly what happens. in the mouth and throat of a person who sucks Formamint ; namely, the germs which cause sore throat, etc., are destroyed.

Send the coupon to-day for a Free Booklet, which deals fully with the treatment of sore throat. Formamint is sold by all But specify Wulfing's Chemists, in bottles containing go tablets. Formauint, as there are many worthless imitations about.

WRATHER REPORT.

On the 14th at 10.50 am. The zortheem deprea elon is now central between Korea and Japan

The depression over Indo-China has partially filled up and moved esatword. It is KATOP central between Tourane and Cape St. James, ** Fresnice has erased considerably over tho Yaagise Valley.

Car where decadent dresses are made. dinal Amette, Archbishop of Paris, profdated some time ago against the freak fashions, and this protest has On inspired the League of Patriotic Frieb women to issue a denunciatory manifeste.

THE SIGNATORIED, :,

It is signed by six of the most cristo cratie and exclusive won o Paris society. They

The Vicomtesse de Volard, The Marquise de Montaigu, The Marquisa de Juigné,

Mine. Delacourt,

The Marquise de Moustier. The Comtesse de Villèle, and

The Duchess de Maillo

Their names are historic and noble names in France. They carry the same weight here as a manifesto of a similar character in England would do were it signed by the Duchess of Devonshire, the

Duchess of Norfolk, and the Duchess of

Sutherland. The manifesto Bays:-

"We appeal to all society women to protest against the fashions that are being forced on us.. We ask all young and elegant women who give the tong to fashion not only to abstain from follow ing the prevailing fashion, but to fight it by setting an example.

We ask them to think of the respon- sibility they incur, for other women of humbler condition who are looking up to then will not fail to imitate them

"We also ask them not to forget that wo must considor France's good renown for elegance and taste, which has hitherto been one of her great qualities."

APPEAL TO WOMEN.

All women are asked to sign this manifesto at the headquarters of the league in Paris, in the Rue St. Honoré, and when I went there to-day I found that already hundreds had signed.

We are not attacking any particular fashion, nor any particular dressmaker, Mlle. Frossard, the secretary of the Wo league, Lold me in an interview wish to create a revulsion of feeling against the present eccentric fashions among people of good taste. Women are apt to follow each other too much in the matter of fashion, accepting blindly any innovation, no matter how audacious

We want to consider some definite form of action to take against the principal dressmakers and shops, in order to stop these excesses in dress, and the fantastic extravagances that are against our best feelings of decency and good taste."
