forward the case that the accused shot his mother and then his wife. The first intimation of the crime was the hearing of some firing by the police, who, when they had entered the house, found the old lady lying dead in her cubicle, and the arcused man's wife was lying on the ground, not dead, but very seriously injured. The amah was on the stairs. The accused was taken into custody, and the body of the old woman was removed to the hospital, where an examination showed that she had been shot three times, and the nature of the wounds indicated that she must have been shot while lying in bed. The wife of the accused was still alive while lying in the room, and then made what was called a dying deposition at the hospital, where she subsequently died. That statement was taken in the presence of the prisoner. The Attorney General said there might be discrepancies in the case for the Crown, but because of that it was not for the jury to say that the casus was all wrong. Some of the drawer.
