Sing and Brown Boy suffered from a very bad-start, the field being led by Candy Kid. The ponies weak down the incline in procession, the Kid's leadership remaining at the village. Pitcorthie raced second and Mad Eve came through. very strongly and led into the home straight. The field closed up, and a very fine race with all the ponies well up, was won by Mail Eve by a length from Vala, ini, Sir Paul's Radiance Dahlia sprinting gamely on the far outside into third place, half a length behind.
