SCENE IN THE SIKH TEMPLE.
ALLEGED THREATENING LANGUAGE TO
JEMEDAR OF POLICE,
Before Mr. F. A. Hazeland, at the Magistracy yesterday, Hakam Singh and Gunda Singh, watchmen, and Kaki Singh, a warder, were charged with using threatening and sbusive language towards the complainant, Jemedar - La! Singh, at the Sikh Temple on Sunday, the 2nd insi, A cross-summons for a similar offence was brought by the three defendants against the Jemedúz.
The Assistaut Captain-Superintendent of Police (Mr. F. T. H. King) watched the ease for the Pulice, and Mr. F. C. Jonkin (instructed by Mr. J. H, Car- diner) appeared for the defence: The case in which Lal Singh was the complainant was first proceeded with.
Mr. King. in explaining the facts of the case to his Worship, said the incident occurred on the 2nd November, on a Bunday afternoon. The Sikhs always had a service in their gardwarah at Happy Valley, and the service on this. occasion fasted until nearly half-past four. After the service was over there was some conversation, and then the first defendant got up and made an accusation against the complainant in the Temple. He made an allegation about a bamed Bugwan Singh, who was formerly

The second defendant then got up and used similar. words, wid the third defendant, as the Jemedar would tell his Worship, threatened him-with a stick, -and-used: bad language. The Jemedar got up and called out to the peoplà who wore in the Temple that he would take proper action on the morrow. He then left the Temple.
