FOOTBALL NOTES.

HONGKONG LEAGUE.—DIVISION 1.

D.C.L. I. DEFEAT. THE CLUB,

Both clubs were well represented, the Club's only change from the advertised selections being Wilkie for Railton, and the Cornwall's bringing in Newman at centre-half for Dunsford, Newbold ré. placing Beddows at iuside right. Lambere being given a trial at outside left.

Only a very modorate crowd watched the game at the start and signs of excite ment and enthusiasm, were very few and far between. The Dukes were undoubtedly superior from goal to contre forward, and always had a good-sized bit in hard. And you the Club did better on the whole than they did against the Artillery, but there was always an absence of cohesion among the players that marred the effectiveness of occasional fine hits of individual work."

The tennis wore as follow;

Club: A, Goldenberg, M. L. Railton and A. J. Stalker R. F. Long, W. B. Rigden, and R. C. Brawn; I. L. Golden- berg, A. F. Briggs, C. Edgecumbo, C. Wilkie, and J. O. Lowiek.
