POST OFFICE NOTICE. - CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR'S PARCEL MAIL.

The Public are informed that the Parcel Mail to the United Kingdom and Countries beyond which will be closed in this Office at 5 p.m., on the 21st November will be treated as the New Year Mall, and is due to reach London on the 27th December. Parcals may he forwarded via Brindisi with an extra fee of 60 cents, and with this mail are Rue în London on the 20th December,

Parcels containing Gold or Silver must be insured for at least part of their value, All insured Parcels must be sealed. All the seals west be of the same coloured war, and muat bear the impression of a private devles. This device must be the same on each seal Straight, curved, orossed or dotted lines are not admissible. Battone, Coins and Thimbles cannot be used for sealing.

The Clerks of the Post Office are forbidden to affix stamps on lotters or parcels or to Beal any article for the public. Parcels that in the opinion of the officer handling the same do not comply with the regalctions will not be accepted, It is requested that Parcels be posted early.

The E. & A. str. Eastern left Sydney for this port (via Queensland Ports, Port Darwin and Manila) on the 19th November, and may be expected to arrive here on or about 13th December,
