A Celebrated Violiniste
Nervous Fatigue, Languor
The poure to exert, the confidence which ensures her brilliant successes, says the talented violinist, Miss Sybil Keymer, is entirely due to her abundance of vigorous were force created by Phosferine. How greatly the numerous dist:actiues and triumphant career of this accomplished musician are promoted by the brain exergy and physical stamina developed by Phosferine, is evident from Migs Keyrner's admission that the tonic "enabled me to do gryself justice." This fower to Excel, this ability to make harfect me of her skill, depends upon the marvellous control and steadiness of the suscle serves Phosferine has given her, and to which she owes the entrancing tone and quality of her musical renditions. Naturally, this cuergising effect of Phosfurine was accompanied by the disappearance of the headaches, listlessness, and fatigue, which were the bane of her public appearances, andit is this happyoutcome whichimpels Miss Keymer to testify to the exceptional advantages to be derived from Phosferine.
Promptly Remedied.
Miss Sybil Keymor," Riversmece," Albany Rd., Leighton Buzzard, Eng., writes: I think I should inform you that I have recently derived very great benefit from the use of Phosferinc. In the course of my profession. I have to travel a good deal in getting to my various concerts, and I find that since using Phosicrine I am never troubled with the headaches and listlessness which follow a long railway journey, particularly during hot weather.. This is of very great importance to me, as frequently only a very little time elapses between reaching my destination and the com mencement of a concert, and it is such a relief to feel fresh and ready for playing in public undisturbed by the fatigues of long travelling, It is because I feel that Phosferine enables me to do myself justice as a violinist, preventing any of the unsteadiness of the muscle nerves, which is se harmful to tone and quality, that I confidently commend the tonic at every opportunity."-July 11, 1912..

THE TAILOR-MADE UP TO DATE. Tailors are turning out very smart coats and skirta in meire, satin, and broché. Many of the skirts are draped, though but slightly, as a certain quality of severity is regarded as inseparable from a tailor-made costuma The skirt is rather longer than it was in the spring and the new fashion of being caught up in front is fairly prevalents A slate-grey satin is draped long lines as either side from the waist to the ankles and opens in front in a V-reversed to show plents of embroidered satin in a paler tone of grey. These are arranged so as to be as long as the draped skirt at the sides but pleated up much shorter in the very front, showing shoes and stockings very generously. Both of these are grey striped with black, and the heels of tho shoes are embroidered in cut steel. A neat tailor-inade is in striped blue and green home spun with ent in the plain Blue, a lovely shade, rather deep bat full of colour. The coat has no basques but is cut in straight lines, and is just long! enough to cover the hips. The headgear is well-suited to the ostume, being a turhan carried out in green tulle match- ing the stripe in the skirt. These new turbans are wide and fall. They coif the head most advantageously, allowing a little hair to be visible on the temples, round the ears and on the back of the neelt.

The fashion of bordering silk coats. with deep frills of black net og tulle seems to bave caught on for the moment, but is not likely to Inst. The frill is easily crushed and when ruppled up gives a dishevelled apperiance
whole toilette, like a melancholy hen," said one observer. When the frills of black! tulle on the bats flop up and down with every breath of wind, the suggestion of agitation is increased. No woman should over-frill herself, but the tendency is decidedly that way. There is something so hopelessly ungraceful at the lines of the tight skirt us "worn at the present ament, especially at the buck, that lovers of beauty and charm are unani- mous in disapproval. On the stage, parti- cularly at the best theatres where sartorial skill of the costliest is employed, there is always some effect attained which replaces this ungraceft outline by a flow- ing line. Sometimes it is attained by a slightly gathered narrow breadth which! falls in natural Felds and is trimmed in harmony with the rest of the skirt. Some- times the clever manipulation of the skirt, scenres the goal effect.
SILK COSTUMES FOR OUT-OF-DOORN.
Glacé silk has retuned to favour for the mid-season costurnes so suitable for September's changeable weather. Some of these have the skirts striped, the jacket plain. Many of the newest jackets have very short basques and these are often projecting in character, being held in at the waist by an erimental belt, from the pressure of which the basques emerge with considerable horizontal fullness.. A bright magenia tweed has the skirt in fine perpendicular tacks and the little coat quite short with a basque in three sections, the longest at the back, two smaller ones in front. Through these, by means of wide buttonholes, a black satin sash is threaded, the ends tied in a large bow in front. The ends drop some twenty inches, ending is handsome tassels, half magenta, half black. The tiny collar and small revers are in black satin. The magenta of the moment is a brighter tone of the eerisa that has held such a prime position during the last three years. Its chief recommedation is that it: prrents such a splendid relief to the favourite combination of black and white,
COIFFURE AND POUCH.
The hair is still worn over the ears, also pulled down well upon the forehead in little fat curls, or ratlier curved pieces. { The new turban-iques are pushed down i over these and cover almost all the rest! of the hair, save that which comes in front of the car. The evening coiffure is very small and close, the hair. being drawn straight across the head in Bat bands, the mathaess of which contrasts with the lightly puffed leeks upon the forehead and over the ears. The jusidious return of the pouch in the newest blences may herald an uncouth development of ap ugly fashion, or may be fut a passing whim. The pouch of some years ago was immensely exaggerated, but when it went it left to us a slight laussness in the front of bodices and blogies that was undehj ably er improvement upon the ultra- tightness of a previous period, when the i front was dragged down from neck to: waist in a fashion as foreign to a graceful line as it was opposed to a good carriage, inducing the wearer to stoop forward, instead of holding shouldars back andj head ercet.
