SOLDIERS REVOLT AT NANKING AND OTHER
CENTRES.
News of an alarming character comes through Chinese sources from the North. At Hakow, in Kiangsi Province, the provincial troops under the recently dis charged Governor of the province, Li Lit Kwan, are fighting against the Northern down to Kiangsi by the

The Northern troops hold a strong position and are waiting reinforce- inents from the North, The Acting Governor of the province; in his report to the President, states that only a portion of the local troops have revolted.
Besides sending troops, under Tsun Chih Kwai, the President has ordered several gunboats to proceed to the district.
The troops of Nanking are also rebel- ling, and one of their commanders has been killed, apparently while trying to dissuade the men. The troops are insist- ing on marching North to fight against Yuan Shil Kai.” ·
