It is really remarkable that

no one seems to have been struck by the fact that, in spite of the regular daily cleansing with tooth. soaps and pastes, the teeth, and particularly the back teeth, frequently become decayed and hollow. Is not that a convincing proof that toof);. soaps and tooth-pastes are entirely inadequate for the purpose? Our teeth are not. so

obliging as decay only in places where

we con con-

veniently reach them with the toothbrush.

to

On the contrary,

it is just in those localities which are

difficult of access, such as the backs of the molar: teeth, the interstices between the teeth, hollows and cracks, that the decay and destruction of the teeth appear most frequently, and are inost likely to occur. In consequence if anyone wishes to preserve his teeth intact that is to say, to keep them healthy, this can be effected in one way only by daily cleansing and rinsing the mouth and teeth with the autiseptic dentifrice Odol..

During

the process of rinsing, this preparation penetrates everywhere, reaching alike the hollows in the teeth, the interstices between then, and the backs of the molars. Odol destroys the microbes and arrests all bacterial and fermenta. tion processes which attack the teeth.

HOW TO CHOOSE A WIFE.

The following advice given by "Happy though Married" in a paper published in the Federated Malay States may appeal to many in places farther East:

The next few weeks will see a large exodus of tired workers from our midst, and some few of these are doubtless going Home with the secret intention of bringing "back a wife, if they can find a suitablo

charmer.

Of course, advice is always thrown away on persons in love," but there may be some who have not yet reened that enviablo (1) stage, so I will hope that my labour of love will not be entirely thrown away

I do not agree with lunch's advice to those chout to marry don't, but there is a lot of truth in what lood (I think it is) tells us

Marriage is a saucy, and, familiar stato, Which many Icaca to love and some to hate. Any man who himself intends to make good husband, need not despair of finding an equally good wife. The pity of it is that men in this country have often lost touch with their. old friends and have consequently to trust largely to chance,

He cannot expect servility from his equal, nor pleasant companiowship from an uneducated interior. Men so saldom discriminate between the science of domestic, knowledge and the servico of common, menial household duties.

Yet, a man would not consider the head of his Arm idle or inefficient because he does not also perform the duties of office-boy.

From personal experience, I would strongly recommend the "helpuneet" type of wife to all would-be Benedicts; bat she is to be found only by the exorciso of CAUTION and commonsense. The man who allows the glamour of a pretty face or fine figure to obscure his estimato of character has only himself to blame li the result is unsatisfactory, An authoress well acquainted with the idiosyncracies of

her own ser wrote:-

and that is why their husbands, so soon All women are angels before marriage.
