In St. Lawrence's ITall, Edgware, Mr. Daniel Crawford, the well-known Scottish unissionary, told a delighted audience the story of a small part of his 23 years of life, without a break, in the heart of Africa. One illuminating little thing which showed how long he had been away was that he addressed his audiencs as "You Londoners, and, as everybody knows, nothing could be further from London than the peaceful village, of Edgware.

Mr. Crawford's lecture was called. First in the Footsteps of Livingstone, and he is the one white man who knows the people who know Livingstone. He had never spoken to Livingstone himself, but in the heart of the African forests he has met many old blacks who knew the great man, and whose reverence for him and his work is as great as is Mr. Crew- ford'e.
