THE ENGLISH MAIL.

The P. & O. str. Assaye lett Singapore for this port on the 12th January, at a.n, with the outward English mails, and is due here on the 17th January, at about 9.a.

THE FRENCH MÀIL. The M.M. str. Hagellan is expected to arrivé here from Europe on the 16th January, at daylight, and will leave for Shanghai and Japan on the same day about 6 p.m.

MERCHANT STEAMERS.

The str: Jelungn, from Calcutta, left Singapore on the 9th January, a.m., and may be expected here on or about the 15th January, a.m..

The O.S.K. str. Sealte Mara, from Tacoma, arrived at Manila on the 11th January, pim., and will leave again for this port on the 13th January, pan., and is due here on the 18th January.

The T.K.K. str. Kiyo Hara left Moji on the 12th January, and is due to arrive here on the 18th January.

The Swedish East Asiatic Co.'s str. Yelda left Suez on the 2nd January, and is expected to arrive here on or about the 27th January.

The str. Glenroy passed the Suez Canal on the 20th December, for Hongkong via Straits.
