BIG COCAINE HAUL. Revenue Officer Wilden proceeded against two Chinese at the Magistracy yesterday for unlawfully importing into Hongkong 1,000 ounces of cocaine, contained in 8,000 bottles. Mr. P. M. Hodgson. (Assist. ant Crown Solicitor) prosecuted, and defendants were represented by Mr. Lewis (of Messrs. Johnson, Stokes & Mastor);
Mr. Hodgson said that seven bales were taken out of Messrs. Holt's godowns by the defendants and were taken to a cargo boat. There were ten bales, but before the remaining three had been removed Inspector Wilden appeared, and the first defendant then hurried sway. On inspecting the seven. bales, bottles of cocaine were found in small boxes, secreted in newspapers. The other bales also contained cocaine. The second defendant was with the first, and helped to engage the boat.
