SCARCITY OF WATER.

No rain has fallen here for over two months now and a scarcity of water is the result. Only the rich who have water from the water works laid on to their houses can get clean water just now and most of the walls in private houses are very much run on. As a result many complaints are to band and orowds of the poorer class can get nothing but water from the creeks and the river, which is anything but clean. The water works officials have the power to sell water to the community at one cent for two jars, and it is stated that this arrangement is to be put into force soon.

Civil Service team is as follows: Messrs. B. C. Witchell, F. Biden, E. W. Hamilton, R. Phillips, J. W. Les-Joacs, J. McKay, W. Edmonds, C. Sara, Ris at all high.. McLeod, H. Ellis, E. F. Gibson, and E. W. Davison.
