XMAS AND NEW YEAR PARCELS.

The Public are informed that the Christmas and New Year Parcel Mail to the United Kingdom and Countries beyond, will be closed in this offfee on Friday, the 8th of November, at 5 pm. This Parcel Mail by the longaen route via Gibraltar is due to reach London on the 14th of December, Forcels may be forwarded by the game Mail via Brindisi with an extra fee of 60 cents. Farcels to superscribed are due to reach London on the uth of December. The following Mail of the 22nd November is not due in London, via Gibraltar, until the 28th of December, via Brindisi on the 20th of Inamber.

Parcels containing Gold or Silver must be insured for at least part of their value,-All Insured Parcels must be scaled. All the reals must be of the same coloured wax and must beer the impression of a privato device. This device must be the same on each seal.

Straight, Carved, Crossed or Dotted Lines are not admissable.

Buttons, Coins or Thimbles are not to be used for sealing.

The Clerks of the Post Office are forbidden to affix stamps on Letters or-Parcels-or-to-

seal any article for the Pablic

Parcels that in the opinion of the officer handling the same do not comply with the re- gulations will not be accepted.

It is requested that Parcels be posted early.

The Public are requested to have their correspondence addressed

to their house numbers and not their house names, as such names are often confusing to Chinese Postmen.

The Anhui is duo to arrive Lore to-day, with the Siberian Mail from London of Wednesday and Friday, the 2nd and 4th inst.

The India, with the English Mail, left Singapore on Saturday, the 19th inst, at 8 B., and may be expected to arrive here to-morrow, at about 6 9.0.

This packet. brings the Parcel Mails closed in London for despatch by the all sen route on the 18th ultimo and for despatch overland on the 25th ultimo,
