AN UNUSUAL CAUSE OF DEATH.

Metal poisoning from handling copper coins was the curious cause for death re cently assigned at West Ham, Eng. The deceased, aged 27, had been employed to collect coins from penny-in-the-slot gas- meters, and his physician testified that the coins were often green with verdigris, which remained on the collector's hands' and was absorbed through his babit of curling his moustache with his fingers.

IMPROVED PLOUGHING.

The ploughing is an ancient implement that, though improved in shape, is still simply a broad spade that is dragged along horizontally.
