AN EASTERN PICTURE.
This practically an led the rites in the Dusit Maba Prasad. The part sons was purely a picture from the ancient East, one of the west strange nal striking of all, and it was son by four of those in the Dusit Maha Prasid. His Majesty proceded to the north haloony and there xented himself within the heavily gilded throne (but abok) that is ed for proces. sions. The great curtains that opened this part of the loony from those without were then drawn on all thron sides and the King showed himself to his people as represented by
Army,
and officials, There another outburst-al-onasian sharing Kia Majesty's people did obeisance to their manly crowned Sovereign, and in their same Phyn Sustaron Valiaro spoke the words of homage. That was ali in verordance with expectation, but the picture is nuforgettable. The King. in all the magnificence of his Stats robes and decorations, wearing his saldon crown glittering with diamonds, was saved in the stashine Hie ta a setting of gold also his people countenance seemed immorable; he looked King far removed from the things of to-day. His oice could be heard in reply to the words of homage, and in a few ininnies the cartains were acaiu drawn, and that part of the pageant was tan end.
TO-
The great ceremour was followed by deto tional servies in the Wat Phra Keo, the Royal temple situated withis the Palace grounds. His Majesty proceeded there, arraved in all the glory of his Royal regalia and, at'ended by his court. In the precession slan,, it may be marked, was a detachment of Boy Scouts from the Royal Pges School. On Snedas, the publio procession took place when II's Majesty was carried in the Golden Stats Chair round the streets of Bangkok to receise the sathusi. The progress astio homage of his people. lasted four hours. For the rest Siam abandoned itself to a wok of rejicing to delebrate the glorions peuasion, and the newly crowned King took part in some of them.
