JAPAN MERCHANT'S SUICIDE.

At Kensington an inquest-was hold recently on the body of Mr. Frank Socit James, aged 63. a retired merchant, who committed suicido at Bailey's Hotel, Brompton-road.

THE DOCK ACCOMMODATION IN THE PORT OF LONDON.

The following lefto: appear in number of The Times:-

Str. It is understood that the plans for now docks in London, recently circulated by the chairman of the Port Authority, are still under consideration.

on

Those plans show that the projected docks follow

the general design of those existing. With a few exceptions, over 90 per cent. of the cargoes brought into the Tilbury, Albert, and Vistoria Docks (to supplement which ac commutation is proposed) is taken from these docks by the consigueos in craft. It seems evident, therefore, that any now works con- structed should ronder as vasy as possible the delivery of cargo from vessel to crsit.
