Colonial Secretary saying that the Medical Board had informed the Government that in their opinion "machine-skimmed milk is unsuitable for feeding infants under one year of age" and recommending that this should be printed on the labels in English and Chinese. The statement that this milk is largely used as an infant food by Chinese has been challenged, and we see that the Medical Officer of Health derived his infor- mation that it was from sanitary inspectors who, one would think, could not claim to know a great deal on the subject, but as their testimony is corroborated by Dr. ALICE SUBLE, latoly head of the maternity hospital, and now in private practice, there can be no hesitation to sccept the statement without further question. There remains thon the question as to whether this
