OPIUM · AGREEMENT, 1911.
THE FULL TEXT.
[FROM OUR FELING CORRESPONDENT.] Under the arrangement concluded between His Majesty's Government and the Chines Government three years ago, His Majesty's Govaram of undertook that if during the period of three years from January 1st, 198, the Chinese Government shoald duly carry out the afrangement on their part for reducing this pro duction and consumption of opium in Chine. they would continuo in the same propertion of ten per sent, the sunnal diminution of the expert of opina. from Indis, until the completion of the fall period of ten years in 1917. -
His Majesty's Government, recognizing the sincerity of the Chinese Governmeal, and their preacunced success in diminishing the production of opium in Chion during the past three years, are prepared to continue the arrangement of 1937 for the unexpired period of w years on the following conditions:-
