London, April 6th... The discussion of the Archer Shoe case-in which Naval Cadet Archor-Sues was dismissed from Osborne in 1908, charged with stenting a Fostal Order, but after two years his innocence was admitted by the Court of Appeal has been ravivad latterly through the publication of the correspondence, in which the father bitterly complains that there has been no expression of regrot from Mr. MoKeum, First Lord of the Admiralty, or from the Admiralty for the pro- longed denial of justice. He claims compensa- tion to the extent of £10,000 for raining his
son's career.
The Admiralty repudiated the claim, remind ing the father that shortly before the stealing affair he was warned to remore his son unless
he worked batter.
In the House of Commons to-day, Mr. Cave raised a debate on the whole question, on Mr. McKenna's salary,
Mr. McKenna vigorously defended the baná fiates of the Admiralty, but admitted that, at present, the procedure in the cats of grave charges was faulty. He had issued amending instructions. During the debate on the Budget in the Council of the Empire the Minister of Marine admitted that many of the reproaches against the naval administration were well founded. The Ministry was aware of its shortcomings and was taking measures for a more efficient floot.
