PIMPLES,

BOILS & BLOTCHES.

A person suffering front eruptions in the skin has much to endure, It is not merely the disconfiture and irritation and painfel sensation, but life is made miserable by depression of spirits. The liver is torpid, and the kidneys are partially inoper ative, and you feel languid and weak. The disease is in the blood, and when the system is not cleansed through the usual channels Nature asserts herself

They are a perfect Band Purfler an a positive and pormustent cure for Blountiesa. İn digestion. Constipation, Headacher, Sallow Complexion, Liver and Kidacy Troubles, Piles, Pimples, Bail and 13bfchex, and for Female Ailments.

and forces portions of the impurities through the skin in the form of Fimples, Boils and Blotches. External remedies powders, ointments, lotions-- only alleviate; they do not get at the cause. Dr. Morse's Indian Root Pills get at the cause by removing the disease from the Blood. They cleanse the system by stimulating the: liver and strengthening the kidneys," which filter the Blood and drive out the impure matter through the bowels.

FASHIONS AND FANCIES.

THE FASHION IN PLOWERS,

THE LARGE WAIST:

Parisiennes still affect the thick, high waist and the low corset which seema better saited to the figure of a Zulu lady than to a civilized wo hideous and unbecoming fashious that are worn man's wear. There seems to be no end to tho

the moment for some biemrch of sloth to arise in Paris. Vionus is rather better, but now is

The fact that pink flowers are to be the favourites for decoration this season has its influence on dress. At dinner parties the floral decorations give the key to the tint of lampshades, candle-shades, and other otcotorua, and also guide the choice of dress in London, to take matters in haud, dorise grace- to a certain extent. Of course, there are

gowns for women, and established the ladies' women capable of attending & Huxt Ball is in the same high seat of autacracy as that shades of red that are distractingly antagoccupies by the English tailor for mon, recognis. pistic to the "pink" costs of the men, anded as superior to all others throughout the entiro in the same way there are many who never civilised world... Wo want a reboissance. Wo dreamt of taking in o consideration the idea want to be delivered frem ogliness, from such of salting the tiut of their gowns to the Monstrosities as fish-tail tralus, hats that hide probable colour of the table

tuo bair, toques so tall as to seem to have quar dconrations. They miss a possibility of achieving a sne

ralled with the head, and skirts that hobble the слив There is delicious tone of blue (the

colour of this Coronation seasna is blue) that must have been copied from the ses ou a not very bright, when gray pradominates and yot there is a good light, though without sun- shins. This is the best possible coleur to wear with pink in proximity. The two set each. other off most admirably.

A BELLE ALLIANCE.

Another tint that makes a happy marriage with pink is pale hydrangea mauve, as shown in the flower itself. Turquoise blue and can-de-Nil go very harmoniously with pink. At a dinner party this week the decorations were pink azulens arranged with their small glossy gre leaves in vasos of deep turquoise, sad nothing lovelior can be imagined than the combination of colour. The candle-shailes were white, so that there was no ripalry, only a fair and friend ly radiance cast up the pink and blue. The superposed taasiar-nt veilings of the hour are usually saycessful in proximity to pink, if only the latter be pale eroagh. Brick-pink, a horror in itself, is evan moro horrible when placed near the soft tone of the anisa, the Malmaison, the hedge-rose, and Lu France, or Maman Cochet.

THE VEILINGS GOWN.

Ninou and météor are nseil by the mile in the villings gowns that occasionally are very artistic, but sometimes a disual failure. An eye for true colour is needed for their successful amalgamation, and it is only a shade less im- portant that the materiais shall be hizo, soft, silky in other words, expensive. The newest developments are aided by the use of gold lace in the piece. A gown made of this and veiled with peach-blossom, mauve, and again with faintest pastel blue, prove extraordinarily lovely. As may be imagined, the shades 50 were chosen with the greatest care, and the bluo was paler than that seen in the umophila, the little flower 90 loved by cats It grows in the midst of pale but vivid groon foliage, and this suggested another combination to the sarae modisto. The blae was uppermost, and the green was arranged over silver tissue. This was good. Consequently, a third experi. ment from Nature's palette was tried, and with equal success.

The blue of the delicato flat flower was placed under a vail of green in the tint of its loaves and swaying stalk. "What does it want to take it perfect?" the expori- menfer asked, and answered the question by ariauging under both a shot tawny brown and dull lizard greso. This proved udmirable.

SOME NEW (DEAS,

There is such a fascination in combining colours, that even in matters of dress it seldom palis. There is a now shade of violet, like what our grandmothers wore in their moire antiques, their satins that were stiff enough to stand alone, and their glacé silks, It is a cold colour, but transparent over La France rose pink it makes a delicious effect. A gown made in this way has for final teaches n belt and long sash in the underlying pink, perhaps softened a shade. Yes. Softened to the olour of a day-old bedge-rose la sonny weather.

THE WOODEN HEAD.

Wooden beads are not new. They were worn some seasons sines, and being produced in good. colours and delicately carvod, they pleased the artistio eye. They have now returned to favour in more emphatic colours, royal bina, strong emerald green; tomato and cherry red, tangerine, old rose at its brightest, brown, scarlet and yellow. Milliners are using them on kats, and tailors are adapting them to the adornment of coat and skirt. Dressmakers are essaying effects with them on the new gowns, and achieving successes. Doable rows of polished, carved bonda look well on bodies and in combination with embroidery belp the line" ou the skirt portion of the gown. As almost all the new gowns are Princess or Empire, one can no longer speak or write of skirt and bodice as separate. They are merely sections of the whole.

THE WEDDING GOWN,

More and more picturesque and beautiful becomes the wedding gown. Brides appear to have emancipated themselves with one consent from the livery of white astin, se long identified with marriage in the well-to- do classes, and there has been quite a com. petition in artistic composition of auch mate rials as lave, jewellery, embroidery, frings, far, ninou, net and lace. A bride of this week wore lovely example in ivory satin soft and clinging, with long Princess panel from neck to hem in silver embroidery enriched with pearls and oryslal beads. The two panels are connected on the shoulders by. strape of the gleaming embroidery. In the space between the panels at

the aides

appears BO overskirt of silver gauze trimmed with wide strips in sloth of silver, brocaded with dowers. Abore the panels there is a square filled in with finest tulle, and finished at the neck with a narrow band of the pearl and crystal embroidery. The Court train is satin, and on the wedding day was half hidden under a beautiful old lace slawi,

THE SPRING COSTUME.

Fortunately for the convenience of many thousands might not ons say, at least a million or so?-fashion still allows us to wear the coat and skirt and blouse, so well anited to the activities of life, and consequently to Englishwomen. But what does the capri- cious Madame Mode command about the now spring cont? Wall, she seems to have fung to the world a number of different patterns. goattering them pell-mell, and leaving them to be scrambled for. Most of them aro ugly, many idiotio. One pattern oresses orer from under the collar at the left side to several inchoe below the. waist Another swoops across the chest in a sharp point; only to retrost immediately and finally to part from its fellow below the waist, This, guaint as it sounds, is one of the most easible shapes, for at least it protects the chest, A third now pattern, cut away from the bust in a very decided biss, ja furnished with a very long waistcoat, so long that it looks as if it had slipped from its proper glace, and all the more.

as it is provided with fourteen or fifteen battons at one side and as many buttonholes on the other. These can never moet, and are thoro for wrong, socording to all sartorial canons.

Then gradually the tax may to applied to the common people as well. a the latter part of the 18th century, England first Introduced income tarus and the other countries followed suit.
