Mr. Sydney Buxton, in reply, said that on behalf of the Board of Trade be welcomed those International gatherings. The Board of Trade was anxious to keep in the closest possible touch with the groatindustries of the country, and of late years that policy had been considerably extended. Action on these lines was of mutual advantage, notonly to thetrade bot to the country, Erory country in the world was interested either in growth manufacture of cotton or in the atilization of the dished article. Two things ware of real importance at the prosent moment, First, to diminish the amount of speculation and gambling which took place in regard to the raw material, and secondly, how far the nations in terested could encourage increased production of the raw material.
