To Mix for use, add about one pint of water to 6 ibe, of Disumper and six to the consistency of good thick creant. (Tire quantities are only approximate and judgment must to exercised in the mizing.) If the Disteniger hue Leccine stiff at water should be used, as it mixes more readily."
washed off the walls or ceiling before applying the Distemper. Whiting or Lime should Wall papers may be painted without removing them, if the pattern is not too prominent and if the paper contains no gold, but two coats will probably to required.
When walls are very porous or repaired, causing too such crunequal suction, se recommend is cont of size before using the Distemper. White Diaenper No. 6 is sandle for ceilings and is not quite washebie as the other colour, When necessary to lighten any of the shade, Cream, (No. 17) should be used for mixing instead of while. Dry colours asal nos be used for altering the shades, as they take away the binding properties of tbe Dislenyer and do not mizevenly.
All shades marked by the side of the numbers in Colour Book and on the show-cards, may be ed for new plastered well. Any other shades should not be used on damp plaster.
The Distemper should not be mixed too thinly, che coat is usually sufficient even on zew work,
and will give a result equal to two edats of oil paint.
Three weeks after application, but not before, the Paint enn be washed. This operation thould be done with a sponge wetted with tepid water and passed gently over the wall.
