Mr. Burns (Battarsṇa). —- The consignment of pork referred to in the question was not con- demned in Liverpool and London as being unfit for food. So far as my information goes, it was subjected to careful examination by British: exports in China before despatch, any doubtful caroases being rejected. This circumstance,
and the ordinary inspection at the parts to which food imports are subijaoteri, seein suffi- cient to remove any approtection.
