SPORTING NOTES.

The principal feature of last Baturday's sport was the Gymkhana at the Race Course, Happy Valley. The attendance was good and the entries well above the average numerically and ales in class, with the result that those who spotted the winner "in almost every case had substantial dividends to draw.

A fitting conclusion to a good sporting day was the boxing at the Stadium at night. The main event between O'Keefo and Roberts did not prove the easy thing for the latter that critics had anticipated, and if the Welsh had freed the pace more in the opening rounds he might have at least managed to scare his opponent for a time. The improvement in O'Kooto was the topic of general conversations. and although this is the last opportunity we will baro of sosing him for some time, he is likely to gain by his trip north if he puts himself in the hands of a good trainer.

A fight which had many of the old-time touches about it was that between Bord and Johnson, and judging by the driving abilities of the former and the footwork of the latter both are likely to do well in future welter-weight competitions.
