STRIKE OF COAL MINERS IN AUSTRALIA.
LONDON, November 11th. A Sydney dispatch states that as the result of a strike of coal miners in the Newcastle and Maitland districts the price of coal has gone up to fifty shillings a ton.

His Lordship said he understood that Me. Slade was suffering from a severe cold which prevented him from conducting the case. With the consent of the other side he proposed that the case should staud over until to-morrow (Friday).
Sir. Henry Barkeley consented and suid he regretted his friend'a índiaposition, which made - it impossible for him to go to the jury that day. He would suggest for the convenience of the jury that they be empanelled and the others could go away. It would be a serious inconveni- one if they were to be brought to Court again next day.
