THE BRITISH MUSEUM.
The British Museum has attained the 150th anniversary of its opening. It originated in a beqtest of Sir Hans Sloano, in accordance with which his extensive collection of objects of scripts was offered in 1753 to the Government natural history, works of art, books, and manu- for the sam of £20,000 or two-fifths of its original cost.
