But our contributor's reference to the greedy ideas of "somebody in authority fits somebody at Lisbon just as readily as it fits anybody elsewhere. Our contributor's critic says it in "entirely falsa" to say that WATSON & CO., half the Chinese have left Macao. It may not be entirely accurate, but that a very large number have abandoned Macao as the result of new legislation, in force or prospective, cannot be denied, and that it should have occurred daring the régime of the ex-Governor certainly warranted in clusion in any review of his reign. The precise degree of his Excellency's response bility for the conditions lending to it was not suggested; he was not wholly blamed for it, and he cannot be wholly exonerated. "It seems no' more to the purpose to point out that if business has gone from bad to second the murderer emptied the remaining burrals of his six-shooter fato the group of worse at Macao, "so it has at Hongkong and witnesses who bad figured in the trial, and were "all over the East". Heuss it becomes important for which obtains in the continental countries of Britishers and Americans who are spoustamed to a law radically different from ours in this respect, to carefully note the provisions of our Trade mark Law and seek redress when need for it arises. Article II of our Trade-Mark Ly provides that registration shall be refused to all these trade-marks which tend to deceive or work fraud on the public and also to those which are exactly identical as or bear clear resemblancs to trade-marks which had been put in usa by others previous to the date of enforcement of the said law, namely, July lat 1899, and still continue to Dred.
