The timing of this operation is made extremely accurate by the bullet, which in its passage uncovers a chamber in the barrel and furnitbes the pressure recessary to operate the tranoverse platon valve. The device is extremely simple, and does not alter the appearance of the rifle or revolver except for a small oross, piecs in the barrel near the muzzle.
