COMING GELEBRATIONS.
Fifty years ago, on July 1st, 1858, the Best osy of Charles Darwin. together with the similar suggestions regarding Natural Selection made by Alfred Rus-al-Wallace ware freeauted to the Linnaan Benisty of and on July 1st of this year this London; memorable date in the anuals of Natural History and Biology is to be celebrated at Burlington House in the Lioness Society's. Hooms. year will be the hundredth anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin, the greatest name in the history of biology; and his centenary will also be sppropriately celebrated. No arrange ments have yet been made with regard to the though we understand that the family Darwin, which includes Sir G. H. Darwin, FB.S., the mathematician and physicist, Mr. Francis Darwin, FRS, the faniet, Mr. Horace Darwin, FRS, the engineer, and Major Leopard Darwin, B.E, will themsofres, take no official part in the celebratione, rightly thinking that the koncur paid to their dializ guished father should be organised independently of themselves.
