The "Shuntion Shil Pao" publishes the following particulars of the now agreement just sutered info between the Peking Syndicate and the Bureau of Trade of Shansi.

1The Burran of Trade of Shansi undertakes to raise a fund for the redemption of the mining agreement of the Byndicate in Shanai, together with the iron works and means of transportation also the supplementary. agreement in regard to the same, and as the Peking Syndicate is satisfied that the people of Shansi really desire to carry out the mining work themselves, they hereby agree, that all their rights in Shanai in regard to soal and iron and sons of transportation shall be redeemed, the work being undertaken by the Shansi people themselves.

2. The amount of the redemption fund is Arranged as Haapao Tis, 2,35.000, the Bureau of Trade being responsible for its payment half in cash, the remainder iu instalments.

3.-The above sum, for which the province of Shansi makes itself responsible is to compenZATO the Peking Syndicate for the loss of various profits and benefits in retiring. It will be a matter of no concern to the Shansi people if the Syndicate exploits other provinces,
