POST OFFICE NOTICE

CHINESE NEW YEAR HOLIDAY."

To-morrow, being Chinese New Year's Day the General Fort Office will not be oper for the Public and no collection from the Pillar Boxes or Dellveries will be made. On Monday, the Erd instant, 1908, the General Post Office will be open from 8 am. until 9 am. There will be one Delivery of Lutters and a Collection from the Pillar Boxes as en fonday The Money Order Office will be entirely closed. In the event of the arrival of the French Mail from Europe the Post Office will remain open one hour after for the delivery thereof.

The Chim, with the American mail, is due to arrive at this port to-day.

The Kleist, with the German misil of 31st December, left Singapore on Monday, the 27th Jan., at 6 pm, and may be expected here to-day.

The Ernest Simons, with the French mail of the 3rd January, and the Supplementary Mail from London, of the 4th January, left Saigon on Friday, the 31st January, at 12.30 p.m. and may be expected here on or about Monday, the 3rd inst. This packet brings replies to lollere despatched froni Hongkong on the 80th November..
