IRON is one of the most important forms of nourishment necessary to the human system. Apart from albumin, carbohydrates and fats, we require for our daily food various salts and above all iron. The important rôle which iron plays in the human system is best illustrated by the fact that a series of illnesses exist, the chief cause of which is be found in an insufficient supply of iron in the blood, as for example chlorosis, anaemia etc. Nearly all Europeans residing in the tropics suffer. sooner or later from anaemia, the result being that their impoverished blood weakens the nervous system, saps their energy and reduces the organism's power of resistance to injurious influences from without. In this way an onset of other illnesses is facilitated. An increased supply of iron to the system will cure these troubles, and if taken from the first, will effectually prevent any such symptoms arising. Those who desire to take timely care to keep mind and body in a good state of health, and to increase their own resistive power to illnesses, those who wish to remain active and energetic, and to recover rapidly from. enervating diseases, all such should introduce an augmented supply of iron into the system. The best way of effectuating this is to take

FERRATOSE

What is Ferratose? Ferratose is a palatable solution of ferratin, a compound discovered by the celebrated pharmocologist of university of Strassburg, Professor Schmiedeberg M. D. Ferratin is an iron albumin compound practically identical with the iron-containing constituents of our food. One may say therefore that ferratin is an iron medicament in its most natural form. Whereras according to a series of scientific investigations, most iron preparations pass through the system, without any assimilation taking place of the iron contained therein, ferratin or ferratose liquid ferratin, are completely absorbed by the organism and utilised by the same. Furthermore, most iron preparations cause disturbances of the digestive organs, and attack the teeth, whereas ferratose is easily digested, and does not affect the teeth in the least. Ferratose is therefore at present the most palatable and efficacious iron remedy. In all cases of chlorosis, and in most cases of anaemia, ferratose is the most reliable and efficacious remedy. For many people a regular use of ferratose, several months a year, can be recommended; the salutary and strengthening effects of the same will not fail to shew themselves. Another preparation derived from Professor Schmiedeberg's ferratin is

JODFERRATOSE

Jodferratose is a solution of Jodferratin, a compound containing two of the most impor- tant elements required by the human system, viz. iron and iodine. Jodferratose is de- stined to oust the host of so-called blood mixtures; the momentary action of these is often startling, their regular use however, is, in consequence of injurious constituents, often enough the cause of a permanent injury to health. Jodferratose, on the other hand, is absolutely harmless, palatable, and can be kept for an indefinite period of time. Jodferratose is prescribed by celebrated physicians in cases of asthma, malaria, rickets, scrophulosis. It is specially recommended, for general stimulation of the system, in cases of severe skin diseases and in the course of antisyphilitic treatment.
