France has decided to do away with bar coppers. From the beginning of nex'. December copper money will gradually be withdrawn from eirnulation and be replaced by nickel. Though the shape and six of the new 5.9. and two sons pieces have not yet been decided on, the Minister of Fiance will probably select coins of the size of 50 eantimes and one frano pieces respectively. They will be made with a hole through them, or with at edges, in order that they shall not be mistaken for Frames and half france by careless people. Pieges in nickel of the value of 25 centimes already exist. The approaching substitution in France of nickel for copper in the coius of five and ten contimos will lears Great Britain alarest stone among Western European countries in the possession of a large copper coinage.
