BRITISH NEW GUINEA.

The report on British Now Guinea for the rear ended 30th June, 1905, recently published as a Parliamentary paper by the Commonwealth of Australia, sbows that 2,707 acres of land have boen applied for during the year, of which almat 2000 acros have been granted. The total area of land acquired by the Crown during the 12 months is 2,780 acres. Adding to this the whole area available for settlement on lat July, 1904, and dedusting the area granted
