On the night of the 20th Apr the defendant returned as usual to the carpenters' mess, when decessed told him of the master's order. Defondant refused to leave, and when deceased told him he could not stay they quarrelled. When the remainder of the men in the room separated them the defendant ploked up a piece of hard- wood, with which he struck deceased on the top of the bend, and the ran away. The matter was not reported to the police at the time, but on the following day Kwan Cheung went to the police station and took out a summons against the defendant for sasanit, Ho had s out on the lit side of the hend about two inches long, and a fractured skal. He died on the 29th April, and his body was removed to the mortuary for examination.
