The Guild have been indefatigable in their efforts to secure the release of their mem- ber, and have succeeded in obtaining may important facts bearing directly on the case. From statements on all sides which have been forwarded in the Guild, it appears very evident that there has been a grave miscarriage of justice. He loaded both weapons, and using and wearing threatened to kill the whole crew. He then fired tire shots from the rifle through the port hole of his room and the went on the poop deck, walking back and forth. declaring would kill the whole ere, and niterwards went on the main deck, where the trouble started. The sailors dured him to shoot them.

He chased about the ship with the we-pons until, at 1.10 o'clock, the new sailors came aft, intending to disarm the mate, He told them to go back and when they turned to obey, he fired the shots from the resolver. The tro at this time of the occurrence, and

In further telegrams which the Guild here received from Sir Alfred Jouss, he states that he is doing all he can to get Mr. Nelson's release, baving placed the case in the hands of solicitors and emphasising the injustice of a white was being tried by a black jury. The Guild sincerely hope that their efforts on behalf of Mr. Nelson will result in his sp-ity liberation and at prasmi they are in communication with the Secretary for the Hore Department with this end ja view.
