Colonel Price opened the proceedings by an explanatory statement. He said the meeting which had been concluded last Saturday was the first promoted by the China United Sørvices Bifle Association. The object of the association was to bring together all those who by the terms of their service had as allotted duty to perform in the defence of the Colony, to fester n healthy rivalry, and to encourage ríde practice, Judging from the number of those who had entered the competitions ho had no hesitation in saying that the meeting had exceeded their expectations.
