REFINERIES.-China Sugars improved and

sold at $25 to $208 cash, closing firm at $2071; sales for ond of March bave been reported st $210 to $214. Luzons are on offer at $25 without attracting attention.

MINING SHARES-Raubs have sellers at $41. DOCKS, WHARVES, GODOWNS, &-Hong. kong and Whampoa Dock Company's shares have been dealt in at rates ranging between 3163 and $165, at latter rate some for shares are obtainable but the position of the stock is much stronger, as the Company is wel! employed. Guo, Fenwicks and New Amoy Decks have not be mentioned by bayers and are unchanged. Farnhams sold locally at 71s. 126 to 123, the Shanghai rato is Tis. 127. Hongkong and. Kowloon Wharf and Godown Company's shares changed owners at $108, Shanghai

and Hongkow Wharves are quoted Tls. 2273 buyers in the north. HOTELS LANDS,

Practically the only football match at Happy Valley on Saturday afternoon, this meeting attracted considerable attention, and a good number of spectators lined the ropes. Tho Y.M.C.A, lesing the toss, kicked off against the sun. They became aggressive very early, further enquiries at $13. but failed to take advantage of their op- portunities in front of goal. This weakness became more apparent as the game advanced, and their besitanoy or slowness with the ball near goal was in contrast with the Club's forwards popping at it whenever they had the opportunity. Admittedly the Y, M. C. A. forwards played with judgment but a little smarter movement with the ball could have been safely attempted. Forbes worked bard for them and his bustling lactics had the effect of creating an inclination on the part of some of his opponents to give him a wide berth. The exchanges in the first half were fairly even.

On one occasion the Club's alback resulted in the ball. striking the cross-bar and rebound- ing in to play. Sueccss of longik awarded the. efozis of the Y. M. C. A. forwarde, and Lave scored the first goal. At half time the teams crossed over with the score
