Cards in closed envelopes with witched ends or corners cut will be tuxed as letters. The best method of seîding cards is to onelose them in an envelope with the flap turned in.

CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR'S HOLIDAYS.

Chains Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day have been declared public holidays. On Christmas Day the Post Oftien will be open from 8.0 u.m. until 90a.m. There will be one delivery at one election as on Sundays. In the event of the Franch Mail arriving from Purepe, Post Oflies will open for one hour after the mail is sortel.

On Boxing Day the Just Office will in open until the French Mail for Europe is dispatched at. Noòn.

On New Your's Day the Pest Office will be closed excep, from 8.444, n.m. till 9.00 5. There will be one dearvery of litters and one collection is on Sundays,

The Money Order Office will be entirely closed during the holidays.

The Polynesien, with the French mail of the Ph November left Singapore Monday, the 18th instant, at 9 pon, and may be expected hers on or about Monday, the th inst. This poet brings replies to letters despatched from Hongkong on 21st October,

The American Mail ex. s.s. Chine, has been transferred at Kobe-to-the

8. Changsha, which is expected to arrive here on Sunday, the 24th instart.

A Mail for Macao, is despatched per sos, Wauchaí, on werk-days at 500 p'm. and on Surulay at 8 4.0.

Mails for CANTON, SANSHUI and WUCHOV are closed on wook-days at 7.30 am. and at 5.00p.m.

Mais NAMTAO, SANBUE, KONGMOON, Kuacпux, SAMS11, and Wucnow are closed every weekday, at 5 p.m. On Sundays the mails are closed at a.m.

No mails are deapstabol to these places on Saturday promines, unless previously notified
