The inquiry concerning the recent fire in the Choong Lee furniture store in Des Voeux Roud was resumed yesterday afternoon before Mr. A few days ago Quen Taotai memorialized F. A. Hazeland, Mr. Looker again appearing on behalf of the Insurance Companies and Viceroy Shum requesting His Excellency to appoint an officer to sselst him in the perfor-Mr. R. A. DEATH OF A PRENCH MILIONARY. Rev. Father Gontagny passed away on Saturday last at the Trouch mission-house, in the city, after a short illus. The Rev. Father was the oldest missionary in Kwangtung, having arrived in the fifties.
