For the defence it was cont› pded that the present action was brought by the ärm other than as the payces of the promissory note, that the firm had been reconstructed sines the promissory note was signed.

A blind mendicnal was charged, at the instance of Inspector Collett, with assaulting and causing grevious bodily harm to a foreman Coolio,
Inspector Collet informed his Worship that the assault occurred at 51 High Street, West Point, on Monday night. The mendicant, whe was renting a subicle from the coolie, was în arrears with his rent, and the coolio threatened
