on or about the lat of July the work of changing the present Axed light on KUNG- TUNGTÃO ISLAND for a group lightning- dashing lighs will be commenced.

While the iterations are procending, the presest light will be replace by two sixth order laust lanterns suspended one on each side of the lantera gallery, neuf these lights should: be visible, in clear weather, nt a distance of 8 nautical miles

The now light is to be group lightning. flashing of the Third Ordar, and will shoe thras White Blushes in quick succession avery 20 seconds.

It will be exhibited from a new lantern placed on the summit of the Old Tower and should be visible all round, in clear weather, at a distance of 2 nautical miles.

Farther notion will be given concerning the dute when the New Light will be shown.

TAISHEK BARRIER.

TOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that two Beacons will abortiy be placed to mark the Northern edge of the chuu, el now being dredged arose the Taishek Barrior. As soon as his area has been cleared to a depth of 19 fest at Low Water of Spring Tides, the dredger will commence work in the channel now used by shipping, and role will then be required to n the new shaunel which will be marked as follows

Two Beacons each bearing a Rod shape and showing Red light by night will mark the Northern edge of the channel. Two Beacons, each bearing a Black stage and showing a Grown light by night will mark the Suthern edge of the channel. Vessels witi know that the old channel across the Taishek Barrier is close to them when they so that the dredger in work there, and that the shapes have been removed from the Taistok Beacons and have been placed on the Ransons marking the newly dredged channel.

Vessels are required to go at slow speed when approaching the Barrier and to take every précaution...
